The vision for this project was turning the guiding architectural + design principles of the Monteret Peniinsula College Welcome Center into a Vogue piece of fashion. The linear elements of the dress juxtaposed against the linear wood slats of the Pergola reflects the intersecting grids on the campus. The building took its shape from the two colliding grids, connecting the previously unconnected. The main portion of the dress is made from the carpet tiles that will be used within the building itself, truly bringing the building to the runway. The train of the dress reflects a two story wall graphic at the heart of the building that connects the first floor to the second in a welcoming display of greetings in over 30 languages. Displaying a portion of these many languages, the train is an homage to the welcoming nature of the building and the campus. A place where students and caulty alike have a place to come together and not feel so alone in such a vast world.

Taking inspiration from the Petersen Automotive Museum's iconic architecture, the design explores aerodynamic, fluid and futuristic elements. The building features a luminous stainless steel shell that continuously wraps around a vivid red core, evoking a sense of speed and motion - reminiscent of the flow of a car's moving body.
The wearable reinterprets such architectural gestures thorugh a bold leather dress and sleek crimson gloves, reflecting the intensity and vibrancy of the museums core structure. Meticulously sculpted EVA foam, spray painted to emulate the reflective steel shell, envelops the figure in undulating curves that mirror the dynamic interplay of the light on the building's facade. Curved cutouts further enhance the sense of movement, creating a visual rhythm thorughout the piece.
The concept carries into the styling and makeup, as vibrant washed of red reflect the building's glowing red interior, while sculptural silver accents in the hair are a continuation of the silver shell structure of the wearable.
This piece celebrates the dynamic and innovative architecture of the Petersen Automative Museum, transforming its bold visual identity into a wearable expression of perpetual motion
and modern design.

Mission Rock Verde Tower and the Fern X-Box chair are the inspiration behind our design.
The terracotta tile cladding, punched openings, and twisting floorplates of the tower create powerful lines and striking forms, with dynamic color and a sense of movement. Our team transposed this directional language into a graphic pattern, layered through the look.
The spine of the harness is our translation of the focal spine of the chair. Furthering our connection to the Mission Bay area, a green mesh shawl enshrouds our model, as the fog envelopes the city.
Our garments live in motion around the structural spine, embodying the soul of our dual design inspirations.

Studying the architecture of the Hulunbuir Hailar Airport in Mongolia, the most prominent feature is the use of large, structural columns with distinct diamond-shaped designs. These columns are functional, supporting the building’s structure, and also serve as a visual focal point with the diamond shapes shrinking and expanding at tension points.
Anmei took inspiration from the structure by utilizing vellum paper and the art of origami to build our wearables. The skirt and headpiece creations are folded in a way so it perfectly molds to the body, and also creates a beautiful shape that is structurally sound. The white color palette stems from the Hulunbuir Hailar Airport’s minimalist and clean aesthetic. Lastly, the pops of red in our accent pieces are an homage to Mongolia, a country with rich cultural heritage.
Overall, our piece reflects how something ordinary like vellum paper can transform and serve as a strong structure and be crafted into something striking like an expanding and contracting wearable.

At Hayward Library, the oculus is a central organizing design feature that brings bright diffuse light through the heart of the library, illuminating the atrium and grand staircase. This oculus is the vision behind the dress, with the bright white surfaces, generous volume, and ribbon of translucent tulle around the hem. The asymmetric sweep of the skirt corresponds with the organic shapes of the oculus above and the staircase below, providing a sense of movement. Hayward Library features a repeating motif of channel glass throughout the atrium as well as glass fins highlighting the entry. The texture of tulle at the skirt and the fins at the bodice, contrasting against the stark white form of the dress.
The Openest Chick Pouf compliments the design of the garment as well as the detailing of the hayward Library with contrasting interior surfaces and its adaptable rounded shape. The transforming shape of the Chick Pouf compliments the changing impression of the dress depending on the viewer's perspective.

Nature is a constant source of inspiration in interior design and architecture, providing a holistic approach to creating human-centered spaces. With this in mind, MSA's design team created a fairy-like architectural garment to draw inspiration from two primary sources: the first is MSA's New Office project which incorporated biophilic design and sustainable materials. The second inspiration is the wingback shape and structure of Haworth's timeless P22 Cassina Chair. The outfit embodies a heroine who embraces the mystic wonders of the forest while remaining prepared for battle. Her spinal-shaped wings and consumer recycled skirt are crafted from Momentum's Nu Felt, a 100% post-consumer recycled material, while her layered exterior armor is constructed by cutting curved silhouettes of Momentum's Eco CV, a Greenguard certified textile.
The architectural garment serves as a reflection of both the interior design philosophy and the healing beauty that nature provides. With this piece, the team seeks to celebrate the freedom, tranquility, and the sparkling wonder that comes from immersing oneself in nature's embrace, lighting the wat for curious souls to venture into untouched beauty.

Our garment was inspired by theLAB Emeryville, a sustainable, state-of-the-art laboratory facility that was reimagined thorugh the adaptive reuse of a historic paint factory. The building itself is a representation of the shift from the neighborhood's former manufacturing glorry to a place that enriches the residential community through innovation, connection, and the promise of a new pulse to this once abandoned corner of the Bay Area.
With a "MOTO" theme as our guiding inspiration, we aimed to celebrate theLAB's physical path that connects two worlds, as well as the metaphorical journey of adaptive reuse through design, technology, light, and velocity. Both the buidling and the garment share a core design philosophy: the harmonious juxtaposition of rigid grids and structures with softer, more organic elements. The base of the dress was a second-hand find, just as theLAB was born from an existing industrious shell. The Haworth cruciform glass pattern, echoing the factory's windows and structural famework, was replicated through 3D printing and transposed onto the dress' fluid skirt. This interplay of hard and soft creates moments of visual interest and contemplation, much like the interplay of light and shadow present in the building's pass-through corridor. The custom printed helmet draws inpsiration from the abstracted cellular mural of the corridor and hues of the colorful ceiling light display.

Lumina Obscura is a striking fashion piece that explores the interplay between illumination and obscurity. This golden high-slit dress radiates elegance and boldness, its shimmering core symbolizing the brilliance of enlightenment. Encased in a dark, intertwining black shell, the design creates an evocative contrast, with crevices that reveal glimmers of the golden layer beneath. These intricate voids not only frame the light but emphasize its transformative power reflecting a journey of revelation and discovery.
The concept draws inspiration from PBK Architects' visionary projects that harmonize structural ingenuity and thought-provoking design, fostering environments where enlightenment flourishes. Just as PBK's spaces connect and inspire students across the country, this dress embodies the transformative interplay of structure and spirit, light and shadow, promising a breathtaking moment on the runway.

Ascending the steps, the architecture of the Sunnycale Civic Center appears to grow organically from the land. Flowing lines wind along the stairs, transitioning from natural to artificial as you enter the building.
Our design, Twirl Melody, embodies this seamless transition from nature to human-made structure. The garment is formed from a single spiraling line. Its hem features soft, chaortic organic lines that gradually transform inter orderly spirals, culminating in a fan of structured "leaves" at the chest.
The garment's framework mirrors the simplicity of the Ribbon Stool, while its overall shape draws inspiration from the building's central staircase. The design reflects our vision: a harmony between people, architecture, and the natural world.

A runway ready-fashion piece inspired by the interplay of light peering through the rhythmic structure in the Flos Tatou table lamp and organic nature within the Honeycomb Villas located in the Bahamas. By extracting and reimagining the hexagon, a dynammic garment emerges, exploring the chambering qualities between the scaled pattern in the lamp and the organic nature of a honeycomb.
The alveora pattern is laser-cut felt pieces, layered and tiled around a crinoline. The skirt is lined with fiberoptic lighting to evoke the lamp's ethereal light and transparency. To elevate the design , the Alveola forms were also 3D-printed and attached to a corset, creating a lace-like chest shield. The ensemble is crowned with a dramatic 3D-printed headpiece, framing the model's head like a luminous architectural statement. This piece embodies the seamless integration of fashion, technology, and the transformative power of light.

Ahead of the Curve
In thinking about the past 100 years, we looked to men's and women's fashions from the
mid- 1920s and juxtaposed those silhouettes with contemporary styling and materials. This design combines molded embossed leather with delicate tulle and organza into something both structured and soft, guarded and vulnerable. By creating harmony between contrasting elements, this design suggests that one path to strength is through establishing a common goall for disparate origins. Change is the only constant and the best option we have is to look ahead of the curve and direct the change in ways that benefit and build communities.

The Copper Echoes design embodies the evolving patina and density of the De Young Museum, exploring permeability and the dynamism of material, light, and form.
The garment features interlaced lasercut and 3D printed copper panels layered ober laser printed fluid silk chiffon. The design contrasts rigid, perforated armature with a soft, translucent flow, against the body. This interplay reflects the permeability of the Museum, inviting light, air and the human gaze to weave through its apertures, mirroring the interaction between the built environment and nature. Shimmering textures and layered elements signal the Museum's complex facade with its balance and interplay of modernity and organic integration.
The ensemble shifts and rotates with versatility, drawing in the Giraffa lamp's minimalist design and 360 swivel shade, as it evokes the Museum's twisting tower. The Giraffa lamp's sleek brushed copper form emerges in the garment's metallic accents to unite tradtion and innovation.
Copper Echoes filters and adjusts; it echoes the velocity of transformation in material and human connection. A wearable scrum for the body, it is a tactile narrative of Herzog & de Meuron's architectural agenda and material effects. Against the backdrop of the museum, this ensemble highlights the reciprocity among fashion, design and the environment, creating an immersive,, visual dialogue between the past, present, and future.
