Steve Stroman - Panelist
Steven Stroman is a Health Interiors Studio Practice Leader at HKS. With over 25 years’ experience designing healthcare interiors he is valued by clients and colleagues for collaboration and creativity, designing spaces that inspire healing and contribute to the improvement of patient care and clinical outcomes. Working hand in hand with project team members to design with intent, infusing research and sustainability to advance design solutions. His experience spans projects of various sizes and types nationally and internationally. He achieves healing designs with an understanding of the human experience with respect for body, mind, and spirit.
As a Registered Interior Designer, Julie has well over a decade of design and construction experience, with a strong emphasis in healthcare design. As a Healthcare Director, she guides her team and end-users in developing successful flooring solutions that support the health and safety of clients and patients alike. She frequently collaborates with internal R+D teams on product development and current market trends. Julie is focused on ensuring the solutions her team provides mitigates financial and safety risks for systems and institutions.
Nicole has more than 15 years of caring for and co-creating with clients in corporate, learning and healing environments.
Prior to joining Haworth, she worked in Sydney, Honolulu and Detroit in international development, construction and architecture.
Her passion is strategy and design and elevating the experience for those who create, collaborate and ideate in these impactful spaces!

Jeff Ringvelski is the Director of Facilities Design & Construction for Henry Ford Health. With nearly 30,000 employees, Henry Ford Health is the fifth largest employer in metro Detroit and among the most diverse. It is comprised of 5 hospitals including flagship 877-bed Henry Ford Hospital, numerous medical centers, and one of the nations largest group practices with nearly 1,200 physicians practicing in over 40 specialties. Jeff holds a degree in Architecture and has focused entirely on healthcare design and construction for over 25 years.

Jennifer L. Plagens has worked as an interior designer for more than 25 years. In her current role at SmithGroup, she is a Healthcare Interior Designer. In addition to working with her clients to design healing and supportive environments, she is actively involved in the IIDA Michigan Chapter and currently serves as the VP of Industry Relations and Events and is also a member of the Women in Healthcare Michigan Chapter serving as the Sponsorships Chair.

Eric Winquist brings 28 years of invaluable expertise to his role as Assistant Vice President of Operations. With an extensive background in project management within the construction industry, Eric has been a critical driver of success for DeMaria during his remarkable 26-year tenure with the company. Not only is he instrumental in overseeing projects, but he also plays a pivotal role in training fellow project managers and ensuring the continuous improvement of DeMaria's operational policies and procedures.

Adam is an Associate Vice President with Blue Cottage of CannonDesign, working with clients to imagine bold new futures while remaining grounded in operational realities. He thrives in the world of large healthcare projects that are looking to transform how care is delivered – taking complex problems and creating simplicity for clients. Adam works closely with clients to facilitate future-focused conversations, helping to connect the dots between what is and what could be. He earned his PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Toronto and his MBA from McMaster University with a focus on strategy and leadership.
